A Whiddy Island Tour
Discover Whiddy Island with us on a fantastic 3Hr tour combining a 1Hr trip by boat out on Bantry Bay with a 2Hr guided walking tour on beautiful Whiddy Island.
We will depart from The Railway Pier in Bantry in our RIB to tour around Whiddy Island and explore vantage points of the island that are only accessible by the sea. You will see the Gulf Oil terminals on the island in their majestic form in a different perspective from the water, learn about the island's military history and visit the jetty which is all that now remains of the tragic Whiddy Island Disaster of 1979.
You will then arrive at the shores of Whiddy Island to meet your local guide who will lead you around the island for an informative tour of the island in a leisurely walk. You will visit historic structures, learn about island life and enjoy spectacular vistas out across Bantry Bay.
You have the option to return to Bantry by RIB when your trip ends or to remain on Whiddy Island to do more exploring, go for a swim, enjoy some refreshments from the pub on the island and then return to Bantry on the island ferry for FREE at a time to suit you.

Hire a kayak for time in Bantry Bay and end your trip on Whiddy Island where we will collect your kayak and you can get the ferry back to Bantry.
